CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture: a weekly subscription of scrumptious, seasonal vegetables & herbs.

When becoming a CSA Member, you are empowering your family's kitchen, as well as our families' local farm. Mended Kettle Farm CSA’s help educate members to eat seasonally & sustainably. By connecting with both the land & the community, our plentiful harvest makes organic, wholesome produce readily available to all Mended Kettle CSA members.

Mended Kettle Farm is a small farm, growing on approximately 0.8 acres of beautiful, rich soil in Elk Point, SD. As the 2024 growing season draws near, we are entering our second CSA season and are having a wonderful time learning as we grow. While we are not yet certified organic, we follow all organic practices with great intention.

How Does It Work?

By joining our CSA, you are investing in Mended Kettle Farm and with that trust, you will receive a reserved share of our harvest. By being a member, you will have the opportunity to reap our local harvest. This helps one to eat within the season, cultivating one’s body to recharge within that season's produce. CSA memberships also empower the community to become rooted in relationships: between the farmers as you receive your goods and between your families, friends, and guests around your table. By subscribing, you understand that we as a farm have no control over natural disasters and that you are willing to accept the challenges that farmers face throughout the growing season.

When you invest in a membership, you will select the location and the frequency that you will receive your basket. Your share will be packed and ready for pick up at our convenient locations throughout Sioux Falls & Elk Point, South Dakota, as well as Sioux City, Iowa. With our shorter growing season, produce is seasonal and varies according to that specific week’s harvest. You will receive a weekly letter that will include share contents, recipe ideas, and notes from the farmers.

If you are needing to make any pickup change requests, please connect with us via email at least 2 days prior to your scheduled pickup time. We can put your pickup date on hold and will schedule a date with you to pick up the missed share. We strive to limit the change requests due to the number of members in our CSA subscription. We know you will respect Mended Kettle Farm and will do your best to keep us posted when unplanned situations arise.

We encourage you to send someone else to gather your basket for you. You are always welcome to request that we donate that week’s share as well.

If we don’t hear from you prior to your pickup time, your share is nonrefundable. See Missed Pickups for more information.

YOU MAY CONTACT US AT mendedkettle@gmail.com
